In truth, it is difficult to produce a superlative, knock out bottle of wine every vintage . . . but we try.
At Kenefick Ranch, the wine-making begins in the vineyard and is completed in the cellar – our philosophy places equal emphasis on both. We use native yeasts, hand-crafted techniques and new French Oak integration to produce new world wines with soft tannins and a naturally higher acidity. “Our philosophy is to achieve perfect equilibrium, offering approachability at an early age, but with enough structure to cellar for ten to twenty years,” says winemaker Kent Jarman. The 2018 Sauvignon Blanc exudes tropical fruit elements and bright honeydew melon on the aromatics. The palate blends stonefruit, hints of pineapple, and a nicely weighted middle. The touches of oak contribute to a lingering finish integrating with the crisp backbone.

The 2016 Cabernet Franc Estate Grown Caitlin's Select is bold, powerful and wonderfully juicy. Although I can't say the 2016 is especially varietal, it is a very pretty, supple wine endowed with terrific presence and personality. Dark red cherry, plum, new leather, spice and rose petal give the 2016 brightness and lift, both of which complement the natural richness of this site nicely. Rated 94 points.
