High quality factors such as prime location, vineyard management/hand-tended vines, low yields rigorous fruit selection, a state of the art winery, a competent winemaker with the latest winemaking tools/equipment and the best quality French oak barrels all come at enormous costs. In truth, it is difficult to produce a superlative, knock out bottle of wine every vintage . . . but we try.
At Kenefick Ranch, the wine-making begins in the vineyard and is completed in the cellar – our philosophy places equal emphasis on both. We use native yeasts, hand-crafted techniques and new French Oak integration to produce new world wines with soft tannins and a naturally higher acidity. “Our philosophy is to achieve perfect equilibrium, offering approachability at an early age, but with enough structure to cellar for ten to twenty years,” says winemaker Kent Jarman. Balanced and well-structured, Kenefick Ranch wines deliver, whether you drink them now or later.

The 2016 Cabernet Franc Estate Grown Caitlin's Select is bold, powerful and wonderfully juicy. Although I can't say the 2016 is especially varietal, it is a very pretty, supple wine endowed with terrific presence and personality. Dark red cherry, plum, new leather, spice and rose petal give the 2016 brightness and lift, both of which complement the natural richness of this site nicely. Rated 94 points.

The 2018 Sauvignon Blanc exudes tropical fruit elements and bright honeydew melon on the aromatics. The palate blends stonefruit, hints of pineapple, and a nicely weighted middle. The touches of oak contribute to a lingering finish integrating with the crisp backbone.
100% Sauvignon Blanc, 100% Estate Grown
The aromatic profile is made up of anise notes, floral essence, honeydew melon, and citrus blossoms. All of this is underlined by a rich grapefruit, white peach presence on the entry. A creamy middle palate supported by a crisp finish. A truly delicious wine from first sip.

Marzipan, lemon curd, and Honeysuckle notes on the aromatics. Honeydew melon and underlying creamy notes finish this crisp white. A wonderful wine that pairs with a variety of foods from fish to heartier meats, even with food that have heavier spiced flavors.
A truly refreshing Rose with elements of pink grapefruit. White strawberry notes on the nose.
"Ripe, silky tannins frame a core of plush dark red fruit, wild flowers, new leather and spice. Ripe and unctuous, but also well-balanced, the 2014 delivers serious intensity and character in an opulent, flamboyant style that can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring.” Antonio Galloni of Vinous (95 points)
Enjoyable now but certainly can be cellared for 15+ years.
Savory notes covered in lush cherry and plum jump out of the glass as the aromatic makeup of this Syrah. Bold tannins, but well-rounded and integrated, lift up the copious jammy, rich fresh berry notes of a well textured middle palate to the finish.
Rated 90 Points from Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate.
Pluot, cherry anise and fine cocoa are exhibited on the aromatic profile. Bright red fruit and boysenberry preserves are underlined by a clean crème brulée middle. The finish is extended with very soft tannins accented with new French oak. Good to drink now and will cellar well for the next 8-12 years.
Spicy notes of cedar, on top of jammy raspberry, and plum nuances form the aromatic profile. Silky tannins, copious fresh berries, and hints of vanilla bean make up the palate. Good to drink now and will cellar well for the next 8-12 years.

Fresh blackberry, rasberry and vanilla bean leap out of the glass as the aromatics. Precisely integrated velvety tannins engulf a dark cherry fruit profile that finishes long. Good to drink Now and will cellar well for the next 15-25 years.
Fine tobacco leaf, bker's Chocolate, and a brooding dark fruit profile form an intense nose. Racy acidity and balanced tannin to oak ratios support the jammy and refined fresh berry profile.
“A significant wine, the color is a saturated ruby purple and the wine exhibits plenty of new saddle leather, crème de cassis, blackberry, truffle, charcoal and earth followed by a full-bodied, super-concentrated, layered mouthfeel that goes on for a good 45 to 50 seconds. This is a massive Cabernet Sauvignon that should drink well for 25-30 years. Don’t let that scare you away at present, because the wine has velvety tannins and is super-well-endowed and impressive.” 95 Points, Robert Parker The Wine Advocate
